NGC - Research demonstrator

The new technologies developed within the meta-project Next Generation Car (NGC) and the projects "NGC Vehicle Concepts", "NGC Vehicle Structure", "NGC Powertrain", "NGC Energy Management", "NGC Vehicle Intelligence" and "NGC Intelligent Chassis" are presented and validated, in some cases together with partners from industry and research, using three vehicle demonstrators.

  • Urban Modular Vehicle (UMV): Implementation as a rollable, modular and expandable technology demonstration platform, including the interface to the "Active & Passive Safety" cluster between the Institute of Transport Systems Technology (TS) and the Institute of Vehicle Concepts (FK)

  • Safe Light Regional Vehicle (SLRV): Realisation as a drivable research and demonstrator vehicle
  • Interurban Vehicle (IUV): Realisation as a construction method demonstrator "body components"

An initial technology status will be implemented in the set-up phase, which will be updated over the course of the demonstrators' service life by integrating suitable interfaces with further developments from the NGC project, results from collaborations with partners and funded projects.
