LEV4Climate Study: Study on the potential of small and light electric vehicles

The industry association LEVA-EU has commissioned a study from the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) to investigate the potential of light electric vehicles in the fight against climate change.

The Institute of Vehicle Concepts and the Institute of Transport Research jointly analysed what proportion of the distances currently travelled by car could theoretically be covered by an LEV. Many different vehicle types were analysed, from e-scooters, cargo bikes and pedelecs to three- and four-wheeled light electric vehicles.

As a result, the research team was able to make a rough estimate of how many emissions can be saved and to what extent LEVs can contribute to achieving climate protection targets.

The report on the study is now available for download.
