Simulation of vehicle thermal management systems

It offers simulation-based development and optimisation of air conditioning, heating and cooling systems for complete vehicles - with a particular focus on use in vehicles with alternative drive concepts (e.g. battery-electric, hydrogen-based). The service includes energy efficiency assessments, virtual prototype development, thermal comfort analyses and the design and control strategy of HVAC systems under realistic driving and environmental conditions. The aim is to reduce the energy consumption of components relevant to air conditioning in order to increase range and system efficiency in the R&D context.
