Prof. Dr. Brent Minchew (MIT), Prof. Dr. Matthias Braun (FAU), MSc. Anke Fluhrer (DLR, HR) and Dr. Thomas Jagdhuber (DLR, HR) were awarded the MIT-MISTI grant for the study of cracking in Antarctic ice shelves "Rift Formation in Antarctic Ice Shelves: Constraining the Mechanical Properties of Glacier Ice Using Time-Dependent, High-Resolution Strain-Rate Fields".
