Dr. Moritz Braun successfully completed his habilitation

- Dr Moritz Braun has successfully completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Hamburg.
- The topic of his research is the data-based assessment of fatigue in welded structures.
It is with great pleasure that we announce the successful completion of Dr. Moritz Braun's habilitation at Hamburg University of Technology. Dr. Braun holds the position of Head of the Department of Ship Reliability at the DLR Institute of Maritime Energy Systems. This significant academic achievement signifies the culmination of years of dedicated research, teaching and scholarly contributions.
The habilitation represents the highest academic qualification a scholar can achieve in many European university systems, signifying the ability to independently conduct research and teach at the professorial level. The focus of Dr. Braun's research was on the data-driven assessment of fatigue in welded engineering structures.
This achievement represents a substantial milestone in Dr. Braun's academic career and serves to further consolidate the research profile of our institute. We offer him our warmest congratulations and look forward to his continued contributions in research and teaching.
In the period following his habilitation, he was selected for the role of subcomission chair of the recently established subcommittee "AI4WeldedStructures" and co-chair of the subcomission "Data, AI and Testing" at the Annual Assembly of the International Institute of Welding in Genoa.
Congratulations are extended to Dr. Braun on this achievement.
