CARIOQA-PHB
Following the successful completion of CARIOQA Phase A in June 2025, CARIOQA Phase B (PHB) began with the official kick-off meeting in Toulouse in October 2025. Over the next 24 months, CARIOQA PHB will consolidate the mission concept and further develop critical technologies for both the payload and the satellite platform up to Technology Readiness Level 6 to demonstrate their maturity and readiness for integration into future space missions.

CARIOQA-PHB / G.A.C. Group
CARIOQA PHB brings together 14 European partners, including the French and German space agencies (CNES and DLR) as well as leading quantum research institutes, space geodesy and geoscience institutes and space industry partners in France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Building on the success of the collaborative approach established in the previous phases, the consortium's expertise in quantum sensing and industrial development of space instruments will further consolidate European leadership in the field of quantum space technologies.
The main objective of CARIOQA PHB is to develop the preliminary mission concept, architecture and critical technology maturity plan for the CARIOQA Quantum Space Gravimetry Pathfinder Mission. The project will confirm the feasibility of the Pathfinder mission and the achievement of the mission objectives and prepare the programme for the subsequent development phases.
