Cooperation opportunities in teaching

TU Delft

The Stade site of the Institute of Lightweight Structures works closely with Delft University of Technology. There is a research collaboration with Prof Clemens Dransfeld's research group in Aerospace Engineering at the Dutch university. Dr Daniel Stefaniak is also responsible for the "Industrial Composite Manufacturing" course. A close professional exchange has developed, not least due to the supervision of a large number of internships and theses by different members of staff at both institutions.

TU Braunschweig

The Centre for Lightweight Production Technology (ZLP) in Stade works closely with the Technical University of Braunschweig in research and teaching. Dr Christoph Brauer supervises students from various disciplines in courses in the field of machine learning (e.g. Machine Learning and Aerospace Applications). There is also a research collaboration with the working group of Prof Dr Timo de Wolff at the Institute of Analysis and Algebra.

University of Bremen

There is also close cooperation with the Inverse Problems and Image Processing working group led by Prof. Dr Dirk Lorenz at the Centre for Industrial Mathematics at the University of Bremen. Dr Christoph Brauer is associated here as an external research assistant, which means that topics from the ZLP site in Stade are also incorporated into teaching there.

Hochschule 21

A teaching assignment by Dr Daniel Stefaniak at University 21 in Buxtehude on "industrial fibre composite production" strengthens local cooperation with the university and the Airbus site in Stade in particular. The subject is taught jointly with experts from Airbus. All courses take place at the ZLP or at the Airbus plant, which gives the subject a very strong practical flavour.

Our research facility at the ZLP Stade site provides companies with modern real-world laboratories. Innovative technologies can be tested here under real conditions. We provide support in planning, providing the infrastructure and analysing the results. This practical approach enables companies to effectively validate and further develop their innovations.

Airbus Operations GmbH

Together with our partner Airbus Operations GmbH, we are working on the development of new high-rate and efficient production technologies. This collaboration represents a significant step in the advancement of the aviation industry, as it aims to research and implement advanced manufacturing methods that increase production speed while improving efficiency.

Broetje Automation GmbH

The ZLP at the Stade site and Broetje Automation GmbH are working together on innovative solutions for automated fibre placement. Their collaboration enables the precise production of large composite parts from various CFRP materials and offers flexible production scenarios for efficient and sustainable manufacturing processes.

Maschinenbau Scholz GmbH

Together with our partner Maschinenbau Scholz GmbH, we optimise autoclave processes using innovative control and sensor technologies. The aim is to shorten process times and enable high-rate capability in future production processes for hybrid high-performance structural components. Through practical development, these technologies are tested under real conditions, which enables their faster application in practice.
