ESA Living Planet Fellowship 2018 - Francescopaolo Sica

We are very pleased to announce that our colleague Dr. Francescopaolo Sica is the recipient of the Living Planet Fellowship 2018 from the European Space Agency (ESA). It consists of a two-years Post-Doctoral co-financing program for carrying out a research project at a host Institution in an eligible ESA member state. Francescopaolo won for his project proposal named HI-FIVE, aimWir freuen uns sehr bekanntzugeben, dass unserem Kollegen Dr. Francescopaolo Sica die "Living Planet Fellowship 2018" der Europäischen Weltraumagentur ESA verliehen wurde. Diese beinhaltet eine zweijährige Mitfinanzierung an einem Programm für promovierte Wissenschaftler zur Durchführung von Forschungen an einer Gast-Institution in einem der ESA-Mitgliedsstaaten. Francescopaolo gewann diese Auszeichnung im Hinblick auf seinen Projektvorschlag HI-FIVE, der darauf abzielt, Rückstreusignaturen und temporale Koheränzdynamiken des Sentinel-1-Satelliten zu modellieren, die zur Generation von hochaufgelösten Waldkartierungen und der Darstellung von Entwaldungen (Abholzung) dient.
