We are living in the Information Age. Much of this data is provided by satellites. Navigation satellites not only provide precise positioning data for mobility on land, at sea and in the air, but also highly accurate time signals which are required for international payment transactions. Communication satellites play an important role in mobile telephony and modern TV applications and enable connection to the internet, even in remote regions.
