Since 29.11.2024, DLR has had a central licence pool in which all Altair licences are available. The user institutes have agreed with Altair that all previous licences will be bundled into a common Enterprise pool. With these Enterprise licences, all DLR employees in Germany are now free to simply use these licences and also test all Altair software. Altair uses a unit model for licensing, in which different applications require a different number of units. The licence costs incurred are billed via a "pay-per-use" model based on the units and hours used.
A DLR-wide training flat rate for all Altair products is planned for 2026 so that all DLR employees can attend corresponding training courses at no extra cost.
