FuN research infrastructure - Chassis platform of the future

The "Next Generation Train" (NGT) is a leading concept for transport research at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). This double-decker, lightweight high-speed train forms the framework for the development of concepts, methods and technologies for the rail transport of the future. Chassis technology plays a key role here.

Integration test rig

NGT-Fun
As part of the NGT flagship concept, DLR is also working on a new, pioneering chassis concept: each wheel is driven separately and intelligently controlled.

At the end of the current set-up phase of the NGT-FuN project, the M1:1 prototype of the NGT chassis will be available in an assembly and integration test rig. This setup, chassis in the integration test stand, enables simple, qualitative functional testing of the sensors, actuators and control and automation technology.
