Route analyses with Raildb

Railway lines are different. The characteristics of a railway line are decisive for energy consumption and the use of alternative drives. We analyse railway lines on the basis of extensive geodata, timetable data and in-depth expertise in European regional rail transport. Our focus: preparation for longitudinal dynamic simulations to evaluate alternative drive systems - including a complete cycle analysis and integration of charging and refuelling infrastructure.

Route data: Infrastructure meets context

Our specially developed geodata model abstracts infrastructural and operational parameters from publicly accessible sources. This results in realistic journey profiles - with integrated weather data to take climatic influences into account if required.

Realistically mapping operational requirements

We go beyond classic outward and return journey analyses: with complete network rotations, we record route connections, windows for short charging intervals and complex operating requirements - for a precise evaluation of vehicle requirements.

Intelligently integrating charging and refuelling concepts

We simulate charging and refuelling infrastructures directly in the driving profiles - including location, time, power and network influence. This creates realistic scenarios for battery or fuel cell-powered vehicles. It is also possible to take into account stationary storage systems for load smoothing or reducing the load on the grid.
