International Gaia-X expert talks

As part of the Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility and Catena-X projects, colleagues from the DLR Institute for AI Safety and Security attended various conferences in Seoul in November and held in-depth discussions on the topic of secure data ecosystems and innovative data-driven mobility concepts. The focus was on the internationalisation of developments from the Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility project group and the Catena-X project. The BaseX technology bundle, which is being driven forward as a joint result of the six Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility projects, was a central topic in all further discussions. Our delegation met AI experts, companies, representatives of local authorities, ministries and last but not least representatives of embassies, and was therefore able to engage in a professional exchange with many relevant interest groups.

The programme included a meeting with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (KOTI), an exchange with the AI Institute of Seoul National University (SNU) and a visit to Daegu, a model city for future mobility. Parallels in research and development and thus the international potential of Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility became clear, such as interoperable solutions for the data economy, the breaking up of data silos, intermodal and automated mobility services.

We would like to thank Anett Schwarz and Jorn Beissert (German Embassy Seoul) and Frederic Spohr (Friedrich Naumann Foundation) for their support, as well as the main local organisers Dr Insuk Kim and Ara Goh for organising the workshops.
