Playtime – Open doors with the mouse: AI, quanta and robots
On Doors Open Day, we will be showcasing exhibits and hands-on experiments from the fields of AI and quantum research. With the theme of 'Playing with AI and quantum', children will be able to gain a simple understanding of these future topics. Our DLR scientists will be available to answer questions about their work. We have developed various play and experiment stations that we will showcase on the day. We will guide the children through these stations in small groups: 1. Telepresence robot: Our life-size robotic colleague likes to play hide-and-seek! Will he manage to find you? 2. Driving simulator: This AI-supported simulator is part of our research into recognising drivers' conditions (e.g. tiredness or inattention). 3. Virtual reality: Children can programme a virtual robot by learning through imitation in virtual reality. 4. Quantum Arcade: We use two computer games to explain the difference between classical and quantum AI. Children and their families can compete against classical and quantum AIs in the games.
