How can safety and security, transparency and data protection be combined in decentralised data and service ecosystems for AI applications?
What innovative technologies can be employed to facilitate trustworthy data exchange and efficient utilisation among various industry and research partners?
In an increasingly connected world, decentralised data and service ecosystems are essential for the secure and efficient development of AI applications. They will be an important and reliable operational environment for various AI-based applications in the future, ranging from condition-based maintenance to autonomous mobility solutions.
To realise this vision of the future, our institute is researching the critical security aspects of these complex, forward-looking system landscapes. As well as consistently ensuring data and information quality across the entire system, we develop the latest technologies to protect databases from unauthorised access. We also research methods for securely exchanging knowledge across systems within the data and services ecosystem.
We transform knowledge into practical solutions to provide industry and research partners with an efficient and secure ecosystem for collaboration. This lays the groundwork for future AI applications, where individual components such as data, algorithms and infrastructure are supplied by a diverse range of contributors. As the highly decentralised nature of this digital application landscape can have significant non-technical implications, we conclude our research by examining the ethical, legal and social aspects.
