The Slide-Flask clinostat is a 2D-clinostat for adherent samples. Adherent cells can be cultured inside slide flasks and then be exposed to long-term simulated microgravity up to weeks. For other samples such as embedded cells or tissues, Ibidi µ channel slides can be used with the Clinostat. The growth area on the slide is directly on the rotational axis, resulting in residual accelerations of less than 0.012g. Each clinostat unit accepts 2 slide flasks and the units are stackable. Three stacks of 4 units fit into a 260 L incubator. The rotation speed of each unit can be controlled individually. Single units are stackable, four clinostats can be addressed by one control unit.
