Helmholtz Young Investigator Group "DataMat" hosts its first workshop
The Helmholtz Young Investigator Group "DataMat" recently held its first workshop at the Institute of Materials Physics in Space from January 13 to 15, 2025. The workshop brought together experts from materials science, physics, and mathematics for an interdisciplinary discussion of random spatial structures and the possibilities of machine learning for material design. Its aim was to foster collaboration and innovation in the field. The workshop attracted around 30 on-site participants and five virtual guests with speakers from Princeton University, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Ulm University, and the DLR Institutes of Materials Physics in Space, Materials Research, and AI Safety and Security.
