Quantum Technology Exploration

Quantum technology is a strongly emerging field of research not least driven by the advances of quantum computing or the need for secure communication.

The group targets various aspects of quantum technology as computing, communication, sensing and methods to support the development, implementation and integration into space operations. Here it engages in various fields as optimal control theory, combinatorial optimizations, quantum machine learning, quantum error correction, quantum key distribution, education and advisory support.

The group promotes quantum technology in space operations by operating the Quantum Space Operations Center which is embedded in a rich research network consisting of many other groups within DLR, research institutes in- and outside of Germany and industry partners interested in quantum computing.
