Digital Transport Planning

In our department, we digitalise transport planning and strengthen cooperation between stakeholders in a city or region. Our work supports the analysis and modelling of complex transport scenarios. We also take crisis situations into account. This enables those responsible for transport planning, public transport operators, authorities and urban and regional planners to perform their tasks efficiently in a dynamic situation with limited resources and to make optimal decisions based on data.

By establishing knowledge networks and transferring research results into practice, we ensure a continuous exchange of information between all stakeholders.

Strategic and operational planning chains

Our core task is to optimise planning processes, which are seamlessly linked from strategic considerations to the operational implementation of innovative projects in order to ensure smooth workflows. These processes are continuously reviewed to ensure their long-term efficiency and effectiveness.

Integration of state-of-the-art models

By integrating the models and results of other institute departments into our work, we create a holistic picture of the transport system. Our multi-level simulations meet the different requirements of various planning horizons.

Our research into processing large amounts of data using artificial intelligence enables the development of sound, data-based planning solutions and supports the adaptability of the transport system to future requirements: a significant contribution to modern, resilient and sustainable transport planning. Stakeholder and data-based knowledge exchange

Stakeholder and data-based knowledge exchange

We actively promote the transfer of planning technologies by establishing and maintaining networks with stakeholders. With innovative projects, we strengthen the implementation of digital tools in practice and are part of start-up ecosystems.

We enable secure data and information exchange between authorities, companies and research institutions, enabling more informed and faster decisions to be made.
