Digitally organised transport system

Innovative mobility and planning services and their integration into networked data spaces are the focus of the DLR project DiVe. These should be usable for specific situations and target groups as well as across stakeholders and be orientated towards real use cases. In this way, they can accelerate, digitalise and improve traffic planning and operational processes.

Digital solutions for the transformation of the transport system

The "Digitally organised transport system" (DiVe) research project develops practical solutions for mobility service providers, travellers and local authorities based on networked data spaces. To this end, we are pooling our research expertise in various topics and disciplines from seven DLR institutes. Four central topics take centre stage:

  • Hybrid AI-based data and service spaces in the transport sector that fulfil the requirements for data protection, data sovereignty and interoperability
  • Cross-stakeholder tools that enable situation- and target group-specific transport innovations
  • Data-based services for monitoring transport transformation and evaluating measures
  • Innovative modelling approaches that support public administrations in modern, data-driven planning processes

The central aim of the project is to map the entire process chain for services in a digitally organised transport system by setting up networked data rooms and integrating the mobility and planning services developed.

Cooperative research with partners from the field

The data room and the services developed are consistently geared towards practical use. For this reason, the requirements for the data rooms and services are being identified and their usability tested in real-life use cases with practitioners, both in the Potsdam pilot region and with other stakeholders. The services developed can thus accelerate and digitalise transport planning processes in public authorities and improve the operational processes of mobility service providers. The central stakeholders of the DiVe project are local authorities, public authorities and planning offices as well as mobility service providers, transport, IT and industrial companies.
