Bavarian State Secretary for Economic Affairs Tobias Gotthardt visits the ZKI

On 14 March, the Bavarian State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Tobias Gotthardt, visited the ZKI as part of his DLR site visit to Oberpfaffenhofen. There he learned about the technologies and processes used in the field of crisis information. Satellite images, aerial photographs and other geodata can be used to provide up-to-the-minute information in the event of natural and environmental disasters, humanitarian aid, major events and civil security.

Another focus was the presentation of the projects IFAS ("Indicator monitoring for the early tasking of innovative satellite sensors in the event of natural disasters") and MaiSHU ("Multimodal perception and human-machine interfaces of semi-autonomous intelligent systems for humanitarian aid in insecure and unstructured environments"), which are already being funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.

Finally, State Secretary Gotthardt was able to get an impression of the innovative communication of information in crisis situations at the Digital Situation Table.
