Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI)



The group's areas of work include:
- Maintaining the flight measurement facilities and for the various experimental programmes
- Advising the users of the facilities with regard to the special features
- Concept development for the integration of external sensor technology with special consideration of the safety aspects to be fulfilled
- Preparation and operation of the data acquisition systems of the various research aircraft of the research aircraft fleet in Braunschweig for DLR
internal and external users
- Presentation of the measured parameters during the flight
- Checking the measurement results for plausibility
- Troubleshooting at the facility
- Provision of the measurement results for the experimenters after the flight
- Establishment and maintenance of a storage of application hubs (stash) for effective provision and possible subsequent use of the flight measurement data for DLR internal users 
- Display of the flight in replay in a flight simulator on the basis of the measured parameters for simplified data selection and for training purposes 
- Use of the measurement data with regard to Safety Data Collection and Analysis (ICAO DOC 9859)
- Support of the scientists in the analysis of the measurement data
- Archiving and backup of the measurement data
- Establish experimental control and in-flight simulation capability of ISTAR 
- Set up a data collection system for the BO 105
- Summer School support
- Idaflieg summer meeting support
