Kick-Off for the SPIRIT project successfully carried out!
Two representatives of the DLR Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes participated in the kick-off meeting of the SPIRIT project at the end of September. The acronym SPIRIT in this context stands for: "Implementation of sustainable heat upgrade technologies for industry Europe". The focus of the project, which is funded by the European Union within the framework of Horizon Europe, is the implementation of three high-temperature heat pumps in three exemplary industrial processes from the paper and food industry (Norway, Belgium and the Czech Republic). The consortium consists of 17 members and, in this 42-month project, aims to lay the foundations for widespread use of the technology in all relevant branches of industry. In order to turn this into business cases for the companies, modular high-temperature heat pumps are to be designed on the basis of the project results. In addition, generally applicable standards for their integration and commissioning are to be developed.
