AGRO-DE

AGRO-DE
Intensity of agricultural land use around Ingolstadt—derived from long-term Landsat time series. Additionally, information about the soil is derived from the time series.

Agriculture is by far the largest land user in Germany, accounting for approximately 52% of the country’s total land area. AGRO-DE provides open access to agriculture-related information products designed to support research institutions, federal and state authorities, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in their work, as it will make available datasets for Germany that have been produced using a uniform methodology. Furthermore, these technologies are also intended to stimulate the use of precision farming technologies and thus appeal to, among others, small-scale farms and farms practicing organic agriculture.

In this project, the DLR is responsible for setting up and providing the processing infrastructure and for deriving basic products related to the ground and vegetation, which will serve as the data foundation for further analyses.
