MultiSaT4SLOWS

An automated system for the early detection of slope movements and assessment of slope stability is the prerequisite for an effective slope movement warning system. The large number of SAR images now available with Sentinel-1 makes it possible to develop new solutions for satellite-based emergency mapping and hazard assessment, regardless of the weather condition. The project MultiSaT4SLOWS aimed to develop a multi-scale satellite-based approach for data fusion, combining optical and radar data for near real-time detection of landslides and signs of slope failure.

In the project MultiSaT4SLOWS – Multi-Satellite imaging for Space-based Landslide Occurrence and Warning Service – state-of-the-art machine learning methods for landslide detection were implemented, trained and comprehensively validated and tested.
