Based on the operating conditions, the specific requirements of a vehicle and the technological possibilities, different construction methods can be used for structural components. The decision for a specific solution is based in part on conflicting requirements, so that a targeted and comparable simulation and multi-objective optimisation for different construction methods, as implemented by us for road and rail vehicles, represents the best starting point for further development steps.
