Location and getting there

The National Experimental Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems is located on a plateau between the Börde and Harz Mountains, around 35 kilometers southwest of the state capital Magdeburg. We recommend using a car to get there, but you can also reach the Magdeburg-Cochstedt airport site by public transport.

Arrival by car

Arriving from the north/Magdeburg

From Magdeburg, follow the federal highway B81 (Magdeburg - Nordhausen) for about 26 kilometers and change to the federal highway B180 in the direction of Aschersleben after the village of Egeln. After 10 kilometers, turn right onto Harzstraße following the road signs ("Flughafen Cochstedt" or "Flughafen Harz-Börde").

Coming from the A14 highway (Wismar - Schwerin - Magdeburg - Leipzig), there is a connection to the federal highway B81 at the "Magdeburg-Sudenburg" junction.

Arriving from the south/Aschersleben and west/Brunswick

From Aschersleben, follow the B180 road in the direction of Egeln/Magdeburg. After about 12 kilometers, turn left into Harzstraße following the road signs ("Flughafen Cochstedt" or "Flughafen Harz-Börde").

North of Aschersleben, there is a connection to the A36 North Harz highway (Braunschweig - Bernburg) from the B180 federal highway.

Sufficient parking spaces are available on the grounds of the National Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems.

Arrival by public transport

The National Experimental Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems can be reached by buses operated by the Salzland public transport company (KVG). From Monday to Friday, line 144 connects Aschersleben and Egeln, stopping at the "Cochstedt, DLR" bus stop, which is located directly in front of Magdeburg-Cochstedt Airport. The line runs at irregular intervals between 5 am and 6 pm. A reduced timetable applies during school vacations.

At the central bus station in Egeln, there are irregular connections to bus route 161 to and from Magdeburg. At Aschersleben station, there are connections to regional trains to and from Magdeburg, Halberstadt, Dessau, Goslar and Halle (Saale).
