                    Research and Operation

                    The site of the National Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Cochstedt is used for both internal and external DLR research projects in the field of unmanned aviation.
                    An extensive test infrastructure is available for such projects at the Test Center.

                    Research services

                    The National Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems offers a wide range of services for research and development projects in the field of unmanned aviation. The Magdeburg-Cochstedt commercial airport (CSO/EDBC) is operated on the site in parallel with test operations.

                    Projects and Missions

                    In cooperation with other DLR institutes and facilities, the Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems is constantly involved in exciting and forward-looking projects in the research areas of unmanned aviation.

                    Research infrastructure

                    In order to ensure that the Test Center can be used in a variety of ways, the Magdeburg-Cochstedt airport will be equipped with extensive scientific infrastructure and tailored to the needs of current and future users.

                    Airport operation

                    Magdeburg-Cochstedt Airport (CSO/EDBC) has been open again regularly since May 6, 2022. Take-offs and landings are possible under visual flight rules for aircraft up to 14t.
