Ship Deck Simulator

The ship deck simulator (motion platform) makes it possible to simulate realistic maritime conditions for flight tests. The simulator is a platform that can move in six degrees of freedom and simulates computer-controlled ship movements. It is mounted on a trailer that simulates the forward motion of the ship.

The system is currently being used in the DLR project MaRPAS, for example.

Data:

  • Six degrees of freedom
  • Landing platform with different surfaces: Checker plate, smooth, steel (magnetic) and mesh
  • Mobile and stationary use
  • Motion platform drive: electric
  • System weight: 1400 kg
  • Diameter of landing deck: 3.6 m
  • Usable for aircraft up to 100 kg
  • Landing deck can be folded for transportation
