ZKI Supports IQIB Opening Ceremony

On September 16, 2025, the Institute for Qualifying Innovation Research and Consulting (IQIB), a subsidiary of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), celebrated the opening of its new premises in the Ahr Valley. ZKI supported IQIB with an exhibition stand, an official press release, and a panel discussion. The focus was on the joint RESITEK project (Resilient Technologies for Disaster Management). In this project, DLR is bundling the expertise of 16 institutes to develop and demonstrate various new technologies and services and their synergies for civil protection and disaster management in an application-oriented manner. In addition, the work of the ZKI and the entire DLR during and after the flood disaster in the Ahr Valley in 2021 was presented. Here, the ZKI provided support with up-to-date situation reports from DLR aerial surveys and conducted technical exercises in 2021 and 2022 together with authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS). Next year, another technical exercise with the 16 institutes and BOS is planned as part of the RESITEK project. The IQIB will also participate in this.
