Aeroelastic System Identification

In the research topic of Aeroelastic System Identification, we specialize in the methods for experimental and operational modal analysis. These methods are applied to aircraft, helicopters, EVTOLs and drones during Ground Vibration Testing (GVT), flight vibration testing and wind tunnel testing. The research work includes both, the development of new methods as well as the application of uniquely developed methods in the aerospace sector.

The most important topics:

  • System identification with experimental and operational modal analysis
  • Automation for real-time capable methods of system identification
  • Monitoring of vibrations of time- and parameter-variant systems
  • Model validation based on modal data
  • Identification of nonlinear system properties
  • Active influencing of vibrations through real-time control and hardware-in-the-loop
