Why the Arctic is melting more than the Antarctic
Over the past 100 years, the Arctic has contributed more than four times as much to sea level rise as the Antarctic. But why? The Helmholtz Climate Initiative, in collaboration with the EOC, has produced a video (in german) on the melting processes in the Arctic and Antarctic that explains the phenomenon. Among other things, EOC is using AI methods to research how the calving processes in the Antarctic have changed in recent decades.
