Based on many years of research, the team has succeeded in developing a fully automated process for recording and analyzing fire areas from optical satellite data and successfully transferring it to the application. In April 2025, this AI-supported method for satellite data analysis was licensed to Ororatech. The Munich-based company is thus expanding its product portfolio for customers worldwide.

The award ceremony took place as part of a scientific colloquium hosted by the "Society of Friends of DLR" at the DLR site in Oberpfaffenhofen on October 9, 2025. At the event, Ororatech's CFO Viktor Gauk appreciated the cooperation with DLR, which has been continuously expanded and deepened over the past few years.
