GDA-AID Transport & Infrastructure

GDA-AID

With a focus on transport and infrastructure, ESA Global Development Assistance (GDA) aims to leverage the power of Earth Observation (EO) to enhance connectivity, improve road safety, and support sustainable infrastructure development in developing countries.

The GDA-TI consortium is set to pioneer Earth Observation solutions, empowering International Financial Institutions and developing countries in shaping sustainable and safe transportation solutions.

Leveraging their experience, the partners will assess and monitor demand, analyse mobility patterns in conjunction with environmental preservation. Here, this new initiative builds upon ESA's and the consortium’s experience in utilising satellite EO data to address development challenges in various sectors.

The launch of the GDA TI activity marks another milestone in the use of EO to support global development with DFD data and knowledge. By working with international partners and stakeholders, DFD is at the forefront of developing solutions to the challenges of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
