InVekoS

The "Integrierte Verwaltungs- und Kontrollsystem" (InVeKoS) is a system of measures for a common agricultural policy of the EC, helping to govern the agricultural subsidies for farmers, and thereby encouraging sustainable land use practices. In order to achieve this goal, and to fulfil the reporting needs, the monitoring of agricultural practices needs to be annually assessed and reported using a joint homogenized approach. For this purpose private companies across Europe are using Earth Observation data to assess the land usage in general, and the crop classification in particular for the reporting, thereby verifying the application of the farmers. For many years DLR has been involved in the quality assurance of the reporting, bringing in the expertise in the assessment of EO data and the system knowledge for the underlying reporting systems.
