DORIS
DORIS stands for “Data Room Optimized for Relevant Information Security Standards.” This research and development project is laying the technological and conceptual groundwork for a secure, Gaia-X-based data room for the aerospace industry.
In the aerospace industry, numerous companies and organizations collaborate across organizational boundaries. In the process, an increasing amount of sensitive data requiring protection is exchanged. DORIS is investigating how this data exchange can be made secure, trustworthy, and practical—and is developing a VS-NfD-compliant data room that meets the high standards set by the industry and regulators.
A key focus of the project is the research and implementation of modern technologies for secure digital collaboration. These include, among other things, a browser-based self-sovereign identity wallet and eIDAS interfaces. They enable trustworthy identification and the controlled exchange of information and form key building blocks of the planned data room solution.
DORIS does not start with the technology, but rather with real-world requirements: Together with relevant stakeholders, typical use cases from the aerospace industry are identified and analyzed. These use cases set the direction for technical development and ensure that the resulting solutions address specific challenges in industrial collaboration.
The goal of the project is to develop and test the technological foundations for a Managed Secure Data Space, which could eventually be marketed as a secure and scalable solution for companies in the aerospace industry.
In this way, DORIS helps expand research and innovation capabilities and bring advanced technologies into industrial use. Secure and trustworthy data exchange strengthens collaboration across complex value chains, thereby creating new conditions for a more competitive and smarter Europe.
