EO4Energy

The global energy system is currently undergoing a massive transformation, and in the decades ahead, it will continue to become more decentralized, digitalized and decarbonized. In this regard, one of the most important challenges of the 21st century is the expansion of renewable power generation to support the global energy transition.

Against this background, the primary goal of the EO4Energy project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) is to implement a novel and robust system based on advanced machine- and deep-learning techniques for generating accurate maps of decentralised power generators by exploiting multi-temporal statistics of EO-based products from Sentinel 1, 2 and 5P. Here, EO4Energy utilizes state-of-the-art (SOA) deep neural networks (DNN) and focusses on single wind turbine (WT) installations in wind power plants, as well as coal power plants (CPP).
