RESIKOAST
Climate change poses new challenges for the North Sea and Baltic coasts and neighbouring regions. In addition to the predicted rise in sea levels, climate researchers expect an increasing number of extreme weather events such as storm surges, storms and heavy rainfall. In order to adequately counter these threats, the resilience of coastal regions must be strengthened.
RESIKOAST researches and develops AI-based algorithms and information products for the assessment and detection of relevant variables in the North and Baltic Seas using remote sensing data and for monitoring dynamic phenomena by automatically detecting anomalies and predicting future climate-related trends in the region.

RESIKOAST
Multimodal data from various space-based Earth observation missions will be combined to develop a hybrid approach for ongoing, large-scale monitoring of extensive coastal areas. Areas subject to significant temporal changes will be further analysed using imaging spectrometry with the aid of water surface and land topography data.
