The research infrastructure of the Institute for Frontier Materials on Earth and in Space consists of a wide variety of large-scale systems for producing, analysing, coating, characterising and testing materials. These systems enable research to be carried out in areas such as aerospace, energy, transport, security and digitalisation. These systems are used by multiple institutions. Additionally, the DLR makes some of these systems, as well as its expertise, available to national and international partners from the research and industry sectors.
