Innovative services for tomorrow's mobility

MoDa

Innovative services for tomorrow's mobility

In today's world, which is increasingly characterised by urban centres and growing population densities, the issue of mobility in public spaces is becoming more and more important. The way people get around not only affects their individual quality of life, but also has far-reaching implications for the environment, social interaction and economic development of cities and communities. With congestion, pollution and limited space, the search for sustainable and efficient mobility solutions is becoming increasingly urgent. In this context, the design of public space as a living space for different modes of transport and social activities is becoming increasingly important.

Objectives and expected results

The MoDa (Models and Data for Future Mobility - Supporting Services) project will create a comprehensive data, modelling and service ecosystem that uses integrated data, models and services to develop innovative solutions to support the transformation of mobility. The success of the predecessor project DATAMOST (Data and Model-based Solutions for the Transformation of Mobility) has shown that there is a need for further research that directly addresses the transformation of mobility with a focus on potential users. MoDa therefore plans to develop customer-oriented services that provide fast, accurate and, above all, relevant research findings. These services are important for municipalities, national authorities and companies, as well as for new customers and the general public.

MoDa's unique approach to scientific research lays the foundation for a broader use of DLR's expertise in society. This allows for a seamless transition of the developed services into start-ups. MoDa services will be user-centric, with the project actively involving stakeholders and potential users. The services developed in MoDa will be based on the latest research and will be specifically tailored to areas of high need and potential impact.

Contribution by the Institute for AI Safety and Security

The Institute for AI Safety and Security plays a central role in the development of a comprehensive data ecosystem that enables the seamless linking of the data, models and services collected in the project. We place particular emphasis on the implementation of advanced protection mechanisms to ensure secure data exchange. We are also committed to protecting the privacy and data sovereignty of our users. We therefore rely on transparent and responsible data management that meets strict legal requirements while respecting individual privacy rights. Our goal is to create a robust data ecosystem that not only ensures data security and integrity, but also provides a trusted foundation for developing and deploying AI-based solutions.
