Third Generation of Satellite Navigation Systems

The introduction of optical technologies in the field of navigation opens up opportunities to significantly improve the operation of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). Unprecedented accuracy and reliability will enable tomorrow's applications, such as autonomous driving and flying.

OpSTAR - Optical Synchronized Time and Ranging

The OpSTAR mission aims to demonstrate optical inter-satellite links in orbit to autonomously synchronize satellite clocks, obtain accurate inter-satellite distance measurements to improve orbit determination, and exchange data with low latency and high throughput.

Kepler - Satellitennavigation der 3. Generation

With the Kepler conceptual design for the satellite navigation system, we are introducing the first third-generation system —with unprecedented accuracy and reliability. It is intended to enable tomorrow's applications, such as autonomous driving and flying.
