The Journal of ECATS
The new scientific journal JECATS serves as the publication organ of the international association ECATS. It is an interdisciplinary open-access journal on sustainable aviation. The journal is published by Copernicus Publications, offers an public peer-review discussion process and supports open-data and open-source codes.
The "Journal of Environmentally Compatible Air Transport System" is dedicated to the publication and public discussion of aspects of the air transport system with a focus on the environmental and climate impact.
DLR scientists and their partners of the international not-for-profit association ECATS (Environmentally Compatible Air Transportation System, http://www.ecats-network.eu/) have launched a new journal hosted by Copernicus Publications: The Journal of Environmentally Compatible Air Transport System (JECATS, https://www.jecats.net/) is a not-for-profit international scientific journal dedicated to the publication and public discussion of aspects of the air transport system with a focus on the environmental implications. JECATS publishes original research and review articles that especially, but not solely, combines areas of aerospace engineering, fuels, environmental analysis, climate change, air quality, economics, aviation climate / air quality mitigation, circularity and policy analysis. It includes aviation transport related aspects and environmental effects from local to global scales. A two-stage publication process involving the scientific discussion forum JECATS Discussions (JECATSD) is considered to
foster and provide a lasting record of scientific discussion;
maximize the effectiveness and transparency of scientific quality assurance;
