Response models reproduce the response of chemistry-climate models without explicitly calculating all the physical and chemical effects involved. This approach requires significantly fewer computational resources than traditional chemistry-climate models. The response surfaces of the response model are mainly composed of relationships between localized emissions and radiative forcing. These response surfaces are contained within look-up tables. Temperature changes and climate metrics are calculated in the further course of the model.
