Best ECC Student Paper Award for Caroline Specht

RM employee Caroline Specht has won the Best Student Paper Award of the renowned European Control Conference. The conference took place virtually in St. Petersburg from 12 to 15 May 2020. The paper was entitled: "Neighborhood estimation in sensitivity-based update rules for real-time optimal control" and was co-authored with Matthias Gerdts of the German Armed Forces University of Munich and Roberto Lampariello of the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics.

Caroline Specht already wrote her Master Thesis in 'Earth Oriented Space Science and Technology' at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics. Currently she is doing her PhD on the topic: "Robust optimal control methods in on-orbit robotics applications" under the supervision of Prof. Alin Albu-Schäffer and Roberto Lampariello. She is an alumna of the Munich Aerospace Research Group.
