Defense-Ready in Space
In recent years, it has become increasingly clear just how important defense is—even in space. One key aspect is “Responsive Space,” or “rapid satellite deployment,” because few things can cause us more harm than taking our satellites offline. How quickly can we launch replacements into space? And how can we do it faster? The answers come from Olaf Heintze, who heads the DLR’s Security and Defense Program Directorate, and Daniel Reckzeh, head of the DLR’s Competence Center for Rapid Satellite Deployment.
