              About us

              The Oldenburg-based DLR Institute Systems Engineering for Future Mobility is researching methods for developing and safeguarding automated and autonomous transport systems of the future.

              The Institute of Systems Engineering for Future Mobility

              The focus is on the development of new efficient systems engineering methods and tools for proving functionality (verification) and practicability (validation) as well as the further development of trustworthy systems.

              Departments

              In its four departments "Systems Theory and Design", "System Evolution and Operation", "Application and Evaluation" and, last but not least, "Safe Automation Maritime Systems", the Institute deals with key issues relating to the technical reliability of integrated control systems through to complete transport systems in the automotive, shipping and rail sectors.

              Locations & Directions

              The DLR Institute Systems Engineering for Future Mobility is located in Oldenburg in Lower Saxony. The building is located in the Bürgerfelde district and is easy to reach by train, bus or car; there are several car parks and a bus stop in the immediate vicinity of the institute building.
