Shaping the digital future of the maritime industry
Digitalisation is changing our world - the maritime industry is also facing a fundamental upheaval. New technologies are influencing how we navigate ships, communicate and operate maritime systems. At the same time, enormous opportunities are opening up for innovation, growth and international competitiveness along our coasts and waterways.

Two roadmaps show how this change can be actively shaped
Three realistic visions of the future were developed on the basis of modern scenario techniques. This resulted in a vision for a digitalised, resilient maritime economy - including specific recommendations for action for companies and political decision-makers. The aim: to make targeted use of digitalisation to promote innovation and enable new business models.
The technical roadmap focuses on four key digital applications with particular potential for the maritime sector. They were identified in close cooperation with the industry and analyse the current status of technology, standardisation and global developments. The roadmap describes the applications in detail and shows how technical innovations can contribute to the transformation.
