EO4CAM at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Society for Ecology in Würzburg
From September 1 to 5, 2025, the 54th Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (GfÖ) took place at the University of Würzburg. Around 600 international scientists gathered to discuss current research topics in ecology.
EO4CAM's work was presented in several specialist talks and poster sessions by researchers from the University of Würzburg and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The presentations covered a range of topics, including:
- The influence of stand and soil parameters on the vitality of individual beech trees after drought
- The effects of climate and soil on biomass yields across Bavaria
- The impact of grassland management on insect diversity
- The role of hedgerows as structural landscape elements
- The derivation of tree parameters using different LiDAR platforms
The GfÖ conference enabled the EO4CAM team to discuss current research topics and initial results with the academic community, expand collaborations, and gain important impetus for the further development of current work. Direct exchange plays a decisive role in making scientific findings available to authorities and practical partners in Bavaria.
