When Earth Observation data finds its way into the media
How can satellite data help reveal the effects of increasing heat on vulnerable groups of the population?
A recent investigation by Main-Post and Bayerischer Rundfunk addressed this relevant topic. The analysis is based on Earth Observation data from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) as part of the EO4CAM project. The results show that more than half of the senior care facilities examined in Lower Franconia are located in summer temperature hotspots.
We are very pleased to see that the EO4CAM data are finding their way into public reporting. They demonstrate the contribution of Earth Observation to reveal the consequences of climate change spatially and provide a scientifically sound basis for climate adaptation measures.

Many thanks to the investigative team at Main-Post and Bayerischer Rundfunk for their excellent coverage of this important topic.
We are excited to see that EO4CAM's contribution supports climate adaptation in a data-driven way that is accessible to the general public.
