AutoAkzept – Increasing the acceptance of automated and connected driving
A high degree of uncertainty when interacting with automated systems can lead to reduced acceptance and thus to lower utilisation, which means that the promised positive aspects cannot be realised. This is why the DLR Institute of Transportation Systems, together with other participants in the AutoAkzept project, is developing concepts for user-focused assistance systems that recognise and prevent factors of uncertainty at an early stage and thus ensure the acceptance of automated vehicles.
AutoAkzept focusses on the experience and well-being of users of automated driving vehicles for different usage scenarios and develops
- Methods for real-time recording of the user experience based on physiological and behavioural indicators
- Integrated user models to derive adaptation requirements for assistance and automation functions
- Methods for adapting vehicle control based on recorded user experience, methods for positive change
The solutions developed are trialled and demonstrated in simulations and tests under natural conditions.
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is supporting the project to increase the acceptance of automated and connected driving with a total of € 2.01 million.
